Hello there!!

My backlog of blog posts has been piling up like crazy. I know.. this is old news, but it’s been an insane 2 weeks at work, yes, to the point of me almost calling it quits. I have so much to share but just really cannot find the time. In addition to busy weekdays, the weekends have been scotching hot. So hot I feel lethargic just being home, and all I want to do is sleep in the air-conditioned room all day.

Anyway, I’m going to share with you some thoughts on a few new products I received for my birthday and some recent loves.

So it was my birthday a couple weeks back and I turn 36 this year :( Man… where did all the time go? Anyway, as a yearly affair, the girls Sophia and Sara celebrated my birthday and showered me with the most perfect gifts – Tom Ford Summer 2015 Collection Cream and Powder Color in Naked Bronze and the Cle De Peau Perfect Lash Mascara. I couldn’t have asked for better gifts!!!

I have been wanting to get hold of a Tom Ford Cream Color for the longest time but never got to grab them before they were out of stock. As for the CDP mascara, I have been raving about it ever since Sophia passed me one to try. That makes it a very practical gift 😉

Like I said, the last couple weeks have been super busy at work. That means that I needed a really quick and simple routine in the mornings. The TF cream colour was my saving grace because it was so easy to use and created the most gorgeous wash of colour.

How I use the Tom Ford Cream and Powder in Naked Bronze:

  • Using my finger, I dab some of the cream all over my lids, up to the crease.
  • I then used a clean MAC 217 brush to blend along the edges to create a diffused look.
  • I would normally go back in and dab a little more cream colour onto the lids, closer to the lash line and then blend again. The cream colour is very buildable and easy to work with.
  • Once I’m happy with how the base looks, I would use my ring finger to pick up some of the gold eyeshadow powder and dab it onto the middle part of the eyelids. This serves to add dimension to the eyes.

I am really obsessed with this. It is truly worth the hype. Charlotte Tilbury has recently also launched some cream colours, which I’m pretty certain would be of similar quality. So I’m really looking forward to trying those out.

Apart from the TF cream colour, I also used a base that was so easy to blend – the NARS Luminous Weightless Foundation. I have a full review of the foundation coming up real soon. Filmed a video weeks back but just haven’t had the time to edit.

To add more colour to my face, I mixed it with a little Laguna Illuminator. On the cheeks, I just went with my current favourite blushes and highlight – the NARS dual-intensity blushes in Panic and Jubilation. You can read my full review here.

Don’t the blushes give such a beautiful watercolor finish and glow? I love them!

On the eyes, I also have on the Cle De Peau Perfect Lash Mascara. I have been using this mascara for a couple months now and I swear by it. There are many mascaras that I adore, some for volume, some for length, but rarely would there be a mascara that has all 3 properties – length, volume and curl. This one really does it all. I will probably do a full review and show you some before after pics. Meanwhile, below is a pic of me with 2 thin coats of the mascara. Pretty impressive huh?

Hope you are having a lovely weekend and that this post has helped you decide on some high-end products that are really worth the hype.

Thanks for reading.
